Naltrexone has been used in an attempt to combat other addictions such as to alcohol or opiates, so it is not surprising that someone went out and did a study of its effects on gambling addiction. They could probably do similar studies on the effects of Naltrexone on bulimia or sex addiction. Naltrexone basically blocks your opiate receptors and prevents your body from producing the amount it normally would, which is theoretically beneficial when someone is engaging in behavior that would precipitate higher endorphin production. I don't think that there is any one magic bullet for any kind of addiction though. Different people need different types of targeted treatment depending on what they are addicted to.
