You know, I live in Dallas and have been following this story closely since it broke. This honestly smells like a cover up. I wouldn't be surprised that the kid did it, and has family in the department, or for some reason someone felt he was due leniency and covered it up. When the story broke it was LSD that was presumed to be on the cookies. That's a pretty hefty charge. They also found a list of all the departments he was delivering them to, with dozens of check marks pretty much saying he already had. Then the shaky story became Marijuana was suspected to be in the cookies, and the boy said that its because some of his friends were smoking Marijuana in his kitchen while he was making them. To me it sounds like someone broke the story to the media before someone in the department with authority could cover it up and smooth the whole thing over. It just doesn't pass the BS test.
