Ritalin doesn't do the same thing as coke, it does the same thing as amphetamines. It's supposed to be slightly less stimulating, which is why it's often prescribed to children. Cocaine and amphetamines do both inhibit the re-uptake of dopamine and norepinephrine, but they do it with different mechanisms, making coke much more addictive than amphetamines.
